I developed a tremendous respect for psychology back in 2012, when I started the no-cost multimedia training program for veterans, the Star Spangled Producer’s program (https://starspangledproducers.org/ ). Some of my students had difficulties paying attention during the classroom portion of the training, and in most cases, it was the DRUGS they were on. I discovered that those being treated with PSYCHOLOGY (versus drugs), such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, were happier and better able to perform in class. That is when I decided to become a psychologist, even though I was still working on an MFA in film. I know, nuts, right?
Today, I am thankful to be enrolled in California Southern University’s PsyD program, working towards a doctorate leading to clinical psychologist licensure.
